Sunday… fist day of a new week! What is the best way to start off a new week? A huge breakfast! It is always nice to go out as a family and have Brunch. Now a days, going out to eat if very costly… even for Brunch! Next best thing is to make it at home.

Food and friends… life doesn’t get much better than this! Every year, when the nice weather has finally arrived, my husband and neighbors join forces to get the front yard cleared of the evidence that Winter was here. While they work up a sweat, I get busy in the kitchen to prepare a meal to share with them.

Easter means time with Family! I am in my Hometown of Edmundston this weekend and today, I get to cook with my Mom in my Sister’s Kitchen – did I say that Easter means time with Family!

Prep day #6 – Lunches
I usually prepare the weekly evening meals and rarely prepare lunches during prep day. In the last few weeks, I noticed that on Wednesday evening, all the food that I had prepped was already gone. I needed to rethink my planning! So this weekend, not only am I focusing on evening meals (3 evenings) but I am putting a special attention to lunches!
Prep day #5 – Hamburger Steak Plater
If you have read my previous post, I spent most of my week dealing with the common cold. I was glad I had soup on hand. However, I think I had enough soup for a while.
Even though Spring arrived 6 days ago, the weather outside is still cold and comfort food is still very much welcomed. Nothing says comfort more than gravy. Mix with that caramelized onions and hamburg and you have a winner.
Prep Day #4 – Homemade Vegetable beef soup
Nothing warms your body and soul like an homemade soup! Soups and stews are very popular at my house during winter time. On top of being simple to make, they are full of vitamins to help fight the nasty germs winter (and the change in season) tend to bring. Depending on what you use to make your soup (or stew), they can be an easy ”on the wallet” way to feed you family. On top of all that, the left overs are great in lunches!
