Milestones… Life is full of them!

We remember how it was growing up… every life event was a milestone. Some of these milestones we don’t remember (our first steps for example), but our parents sure do.  Others are linked to personal experiences, like a first kiss (parents will not necessarly know this one)! Then you have these milestones that are celebrated by everyone… like finishing High School!

Being a parent, you want what is best for your kids. Unfortunatly, they aren’t born with a users manual.  Each child is different and will learn differently. As they grow up, you see them struggle, but you also see them succeed.

You teach them right from wrong and get upset when you see them stear in the wrong direction.  You lovingly bring them back into the right path. You feel bad but after all, you are raising someone to become a responsible adult.  So, you give consequences and you know they hate you for taking away their electronic device as a punishment (Mom, you don’t understand, my cell phone or my video console is my life)…so I was told!

In the end, when you look back at the last 16 years and realise you have raised a fine young man, you know you can be proud of what he has accomplished.

So when your child takes these Milestone steps, the graduation steps, you should be proud of what you have accomplished!  Be confident that you have raised a responsible young adult.

I know I am…
