I can’t believe it’s SKOR chocolate… copy cat version

I LOVE SKOR chocolate bars! Never would I have thought that I could make a total copy cat of it… and with no effort!

All you will need are the following:

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of raw cane sugar (VERY IMPORTANT)
  • 2-3 Tbsp. of water
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
  • 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup of chopped pecan or walnuts (optional)

Using a 9X13 baking sheet, spray with oil and line with parchment paper. Set aside!

In a medium sauce pan, bring to a boil your butter, sugar and water. When it begins to boil, using a candy thermometer, bring temperature up to 300F which should show “hard crack”.

As soon you reach that temperature, remove from heat, stir in your vanilla and carefully pour in your parchment lined baking sheet. BE CAREFULL – EXTREMELLY HOT!!!

Let the candy set until it has a shinny top, around 5 minutes. Add your chocolate chips and cover with foil… let set for around 10 minutes. The heat will melt the chocolate. Using a spatula, spread chocolate evenly on top… add your chopped nuts. Gently press your nuts in the chocolate so they can stick to the chocolate bar. This is optional but adds a great taste and texture.

Let completely cool before you cut into it… around 3 -4 hours. As you cut into it, it is normal that it will break into uneven pieces, that is what makes it interesting.

Store into an airtight container for a week at room temperature. Enjoy!!
